How To Create A 2017 of Success, Joy and Happiness

1 John 5:4 – For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.

This post focuses our attention on how we can create a 2017 of success, joy and happiness rather than a year of doom, gloom and failure.  As you reflect back on the year of 2016, I suspect there are things you wish you had done differently; things you wish you had not done, and things you wish you had done.  The past is gone and behind us.  We cannot change it.  Therefore focus your attention on the present which you can change and the future for which you can   prepare.  If your 2016 was all that you would have desired, congratulations and if not, congratulations.  You have survived.  Whatever obstacles and challenges you faced did not overcome you.

Are you pleased with your walk with God?  Do you want to be closer, more obedient?  Are you keeping his commandments?  Are you reaping his promises? If not, do you want to be healthier, wealthier and wiser?  The choice is indeed yours.  Life is filled with obstacles, challenges, hills, mountains and valleys.  Our paths are not always smooth and tranquil.  Just as in nature there are some stormy days and some sunny days, so it is in life.  However even in those places where there are endless hours of darkness, experience has shown that there will eventually be light.  And, so it is with us.  Darkness [deprivation, loss, lack] will not last forever.

Nehemiah 9:36, “But see, we are slaves today, slaves in the land you [God] gave our forefathers so they could eat its fruit and the other good things it produces. Because of our sins, its abundant harvest goes to the kings you have placed over us. They rule over our bodies and our cattle as they please. We are in great distress.”

I believe that many of us today can identify with the feelings expressed in the above verse.  ‘We are in great distress’.  Many are concerned with having sufficient funds to pay rent, buy groceries, gas to get to work, etc.  I say to you remember the words of Jesus in John 16:33 KJV

33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

1. Put your faith and trust in the Lord. Know what God’s promises are.  Trust and Believe that HE will keep His Word.

2.  Study the Word. Know what God has in store for you. God’s Word gives us instructions that when followed make our paths easier to travel.

3.  Test your faith. Step out on faith and see if God keeps His Word.  This is much easier said than done. But you can determine the size of the test.

4. Pray frequently. Prayer is how we communicate with God.  This involves more than just asking for ‘stuff’, but includes listening for instructions and directions.

5.  Love one another. Share the love of Jesus with others.  Extend a helping hand.  Give smiles, hugs, do a good deed.

Matthew 25:40 King James Version (KJV)

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

I encourage you to make a commitment in 2017 to make Jesus a daily part of your life.  Set aside a few minutes daily to seek His guidance.  HE will never leave nor forsake you.  If you trust Him, His plans will become manifested in your life.

Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

The year of 2017 can and will be prosperous, happy and successful if you consciously make a choice to become one of God’s chosen and act upon His teachings. Integrate your worldly action plan into your plan for life–God’s plan for you.

Have a blessed day.
